About the project
Still North is a concept for an independent outdoor journal, created for people who would rather take the scenic route. Inspired by mountain air, quiet forests, and water shaped by the weather, the project explores how a digital experience can feel as calm as the places it celebrates.
The visual direction pairs expansive landscape photography with restrained typography, generous spacing, and a simple monochrome mark. Images lead the story, while small editorial details help each destination feel personal and worth exploring. A muted palette draws on stone, mist, and evergreen foliage.
The website brings together destination stories, visual field notes, and a flexible project gallery. Clear navigation and responsive layouts make it easy to move from a first impression to a deeper read, on any screen.
This fictional project demonstrates a thoughtful approach to art direction and web design. It is presented as sample portfolio content, with freely licensed nature photography and placeholder branding that can be replaced with your own work.
